The voters of Bartholomew County have an opportunity to elect a new face this November. Hanna Omar is a first-time candidate running for the open seat in County Council District 1. Most important, she is committed to working for the people of Bartholomew County and will bring a fresh perspective to the job.

Hanna respects the best traditions of Bartholomew County: the importance of protecting our farming community, supporting business development and being a cautious steward of county resources. Her business background will enable her to look at problems and solutions critically and arrive at decisions that are in the best interests of everyone.

Hanna knows that funding services for county residents is always under pressure. Decisions on how to pay for employee benefits, repaving roads, rebuilding or replacing bridges and county facilities and services are an ongoing challenge. Solutions to these challenges require the ability to weigh options and develop financial plans that work. Hanna has the experience and ability to do this.

Most of us are content to let someone else bear the burden of making difficult decisions and take the heat. Thankfully, Hanna is asking us to give her this responsibility. She is committed to working in the best interest of Bartholomew County and she deserves our support.
