Two arrested after police serve search warrant at North Vernon home

NORTH VERNON — North Vernon police arrested two local residents after they were sent to a home in the 500 block of Daniel Drive on a report of drug abuse and a request to check on a female there.

Police received a search warrant for the home and recovered multiple cell phones, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, multiple prescription pills not stored in the proper containers, more than 20 grams of a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, items with a brown powder residue believed to be heroin and 10 firearms, said Sgt. Andrew Richmond, police department spokesman.

Arrested were Perry D. Proctor, 47 and Cassie L. Bright, 32, both of North Vernon, Richmond said.

Proctor was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in a controlled substance, dealing in methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia, Richmond said.
