Bull Dogs blast Bears

Nathaly Munnicha fired a 37 to win medalist honors and lead co-No. 5-ranked Columbus North to a 163-225 win against Shelbyville at Harrison Lake Country Club.

Alex Munnicha and Annie Anderson each shot 41 for the Bull Dogs. Yestika Nischol carded a 44, Ella Wilks added a 45 and Macy Euler had a 48.

Cougars take third

GREENSBURG — South Decatur finished third in a tri match at Greensburg Country Club. Greensburg won with a 173 to 220 for North Decatur and 234 for the Cougars.

Annie Gant led South Decatur with a 51. Katie Vanderbur carded a 58, Kamrie Owens added a 60, Ashley Vanaman shot 65 and Joy Tryon had a 66.

North blanks Southport

INDIANAPOLIS — No. 18 Columbus North dropped only nine games in the five matches in a 5-0 Conference Indiana win at Southport.

Kevin Lin beat Colston Streit 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Bhavey Jain downed Noah Hall 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Joey Zhao topped Noah Thomas 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Bull Dogs (3-0, 1-0).

North’s Adam Saad and Nathan Lin beat Zach Bozarth and Brenden Tyner 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Matthew Liu and Will King blanked Lincoln Shields and John Gunderson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

East gets first win

MADISON — Columbus East picked up its first win of the season, a 4-1 decision at Madison.

Jackson Stevens beat Gabe True 1-6, 6-2, (10-1) at No. 2 singles, and Pramav Kumar downed Quinton Humes 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (1-2). JT Kuhlman and Jalen Pleak topped Luke True and Dalton Owen 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Nathan Hatchett and Derek Heideman beat Reese Whicker and RJ Stallard 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

East’s Luke Miller fell to Cooper Yancey 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.

Panthers fall to Owls

NORTH VERNON — Seymour won four matches in straight sets to hand Jennings County a 4-1 defeat.

The win for the Panthers (1-2) came at No. 3 singles, where Chad Gasper beat Trey Hohenstreiter (S) 6-3, 3-6, 2-2 (retired).

Jennings’ Thomas Schuler fell to Adam Berry, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Kyle Tempest lost to Isaac Hardin 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Weston Miller and Kent Biehle fell to Andre Levine and Sam Schmidt 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles, and Wyatt St. John and Joe Kelley lost to Brandon Hubbard and Will Rinehart 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Braves best Lancers

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh won the No. 1 singles match, but Indian Creek took the other four to post a 4-1 victory.

Coltan Henderson beat Jake Mitchell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for the Lancers. Brayden McManaway fell to Cass Mitchell 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, and Isiah Estes lost to Jaden Scrougham 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Edinburgh’s Kolton Reed and Travis Jones fell to Cody Hart and Mitch Walls 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Parker Newmann and Travor Moon lost to Jason Bray and Colt Allison 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Panthers pound Pirates

CHARLESTOWN — Jennings County did not allow a shot on goal in rolling to a 10-0 win at Charlestown.

Naomi Beal, Emily Montgomery and Callie Wilder all netted two goals; and Morgan Lane, Baylee Byford, Kerrigan Moore and Lauren Green all added one for the Panthers (3-0). Beal notched two assists, and Lily George, Byford and Sam Goss all had one assist.

Jennings outshot the Pirates 28-0. Kenna Maschino played the first half in goal, and Faith Robertson played the second half in combining for the shutout.

Southport tops Trinity

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran managed only one shot in a 5-1 loss to Southport.

Sidney Hoene scored the goal off an assist from Emilee Lang for the Cougars (3-2), who were outshot 19-1. Genesis Munoz recorded 13 saves.

Spartans stop Eagles

SHELBYVILLE — Brown County cut a 3-0 halftime deficit to 3-2, but Southwestern (Shelby) pulled away for 5-2 win.

Caleb Yeager (on a penalty kick) and Ricky Stanley scored the goals for the Eagles (0-22). Jake Huddleston posted 23 saves.

Cubs topple Panthers

MADISON — Jennings County remained winless with a 3-1 Hoosier Hills Conference loss at Madison.

Carson McNulty scored off an assist from Justin Copeland for the Panthers (0-3, 0-1). Dreagen Ison recorded 13 saves.

Panthers rally for win

BEDFORD — Jennings County overcame a two-set deficit to post a their first win of the season, a 14-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-10 Hoosier Hills Conference decision at Bedford North Lawrence.

Abi Vogel pounded eight kills, Karlee Madinger recorded 34 assists, Marley Stearns had 10 blocks, Hanah Bertram notched 20 digs and Liz Ertel served two aces to lead the Panthers (1-3, 1-2).

Also for Jennings, Mary Leahigh added seven kills, Ertel had six assists, Vogel tallied four blocks and an ace and Karma Warren and Marley Stearns each added five digs.

Panthers top Eagles

BLOOMINGTON — Brown County got off to a slow start in taking its first loss of the season, a 25-6, 25-18, 25-12 decision at Bloomington South.

The Eagles fell to 2-1.

Cubs sweep Cougars

FRANKLIN — Trinity Lutheran was swept by Franklin 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

The Cougars fell to 3-2.
