Two local Cummins Inc. facilities, the Fuel Systems Plant and the Columbus Engine Plant, were named members of Indiana’s Environmental Stewardship Program in recognition of their recycling and energy efficiency.

1993

Having established its Midwest distribution hub in Jennings County, Lowe’s Companies Inc. selected Columbus as one of several branches for its national retail supercenters.

1968

Traffic signals at Seventh Street and Hawcreek Boulevard and at 10th Street and Central Avenue were replaced at a cost of $5,765 because they did not meet new state lens size or visibility standards.
