The first postseason of the school year gets underway this weekend with girls golf sectional action.
Sectional play will take place at 30 sites around the state. Three of those sectional tournaments will involve local teams, including the Greensburg Sectional, where Columbus East and Columbus North are headed.
Admission is free.
The top three teams and top three individuals not on an advancing team qualify for regional action on Sept. 22. From there, the top three teams and individuals move on to the state finals, which are Sept. 28 and 29 at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel.

Greensburg Sectional
When: 8:30 a.m. Saturday
Where: Greensburg Country Club
Teams: Columbus East, Columbus North, South Decatur, Batesville, East Central, Greensburg, Jac-Cen-Del, Milan, North Decatur, Oldenburg Academy, Rushville
Advancement: To Lapel Regional at Edgewood Golf Course in Anderson
Madison Sectional
When: Noon Saturday
Where: Sunrise Golf Course
Teams: Jennings County, Henryville, Lawrenceburg, Madison, Madison Shawe, Scottsburg, South Dearborn, Southwestern (Hanover), Switzerland County
Advancement: To Roncalli Regional at Smock Golf Course in Indianapolis
Bloomington North Sectional
When: 8:30 a.m. Monday
Where: Cascades Golf Course
Teams: Brown County, Edinburgh, Bloomington North, Bloomington South, Edgewood, Indian Creek, Martinsville, Owen Valley
Advancement: To Washington Regional at Country Oaks Golf Club in Montgomery
