Ethnic Expo Committee selects poster winner

The Ethnic Expo Committee has selected a poster winner after sponsoring a poster design contest for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. students. This year’s host country for the event is France.

Columbus East High School senior Mckenzie Brown won first place. Paintings and drawings were submitted and judged by host committee members.

Mckenzie’s poster design will be printed and the poster will be available for purchase at Ethnic Expo on Oct. 12 and 13 in downtown Columbus.

Southside PTO group

plans Sept. 20 meeting

Southside Elementary School’s parent-teacher organization will have its monthly meeting Thursday.

North senior to present

at Right to Life banquetA Columbus North High School senior will present his senior project during the Bartholomew County Right to Life Banquet this week.

Nicholas Smith, who has digitized the past history of the organization as part of his senior project, will make his presentation at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the family arts building at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds, 750 W. County Road 200S.

Sherrie Foushee, spokeswoman for the National Safe Haven Alliance, will be the featured speaker during the event with dinner provided by Mahoneys Fish. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $25.
