Annual Kennel Club show this weekend

Kennel Club of Columbus Indiana is sponsoring its annual dog show this weekend at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The event will be 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with best of show competitions beginning at 1 p.m. each day, and selection of a winner between 3 and 4 p.m.

More than 500 dogs from all over the United States are entered in the competition, representing more than 100 breeds, said Linda Grimsley, kennel club president.

The show will be in four different buildings at the fairgrounds, 750 W. County Road 200S.

Admission and parking are free. Concessions will be available at the fairgrounds from the Boy Scouts.

An estimated 700 to 800 people are expected for the event. People who attend are asked to bring lawn chairs to make sure there is enough seating.

Only dogs entered in the show are permitted on the show grounds, Grimsley said.
