Bible Church of Columbus — Pastor Dave Marvin continues a new series of messages, “Abundant Life: Straight Talk from Jesus,” at the 10 a.m. Sunday service, when worshipers will gain a better understanding of how “abundant life” plays out in everyday living. The church is located at 3010 10th St., Columbus.

Life Group Bible Studies are available at 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. The Children’s Ministries through grade 6 begin at 9:45 a.m. Teen Ministry will meet at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Additional Life Group Bible studies are available throughout the week.

East Columbus United Methodist — Sunday morning fellowship time starts at 9 a.m. in the foyer with beverages and light snacks. The morning worship service starts at 9:30 a.m. During the service, veterans will be honored and recognized. Young children will receive a special message before being dismissed to Children’s Church and a staffed nursery/toddler room will be available during the service. Sunday school starts at 10:40 a.m. for all ages.

A Thanksgiving Blessings dinner will be after Sunday school in the Fellowship Hall. All attending are asked to bring a side dish and dessert to share.

Sunday Evening Chapel service will not be held this week.

Tuesday Bible Study begins at 1 p.m. in the chapel.

Choir rehearsal begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary.

J.A.M. will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the youth center.

Wednesday Bible Study starts at 7 p.m. in the chapel.

First Presbyterian — Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. at the church, 512 Seventh St., Columbus. The Sunday sermon, “Requirements,” will reflect on one such summary from the prophet Micah, chapters 1, 5 and 6. The adult choir will lead the worship.

Infant and toddler care is available from 9:15 a.m. to noon Sunday.

The men’s and women’s support groups meet at 7 a.m. Fridays, and a second men’s support group of working-age men meets every Monday at 6:15 a.m.

People in the community in need of a meal are invited to Hot Meals offered 5 p.m. Friday, with entry through the glass doors on Franklin Street.

The church is LGBTQ-friendly, open and affirming to all.

First United Methodist — At Sunday’s 9 a.m. traditional service and the 11 a.m. celebration service, Sami Heathcote will deliver the message at the church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus. The Scripture will be 1 Samuel 17:45 and Mark 12:41-44. Sunday school for all ages begins at 10:10 a.m. This will be Youth Sunday, where the service — from the songs to the message — will be performed and delivered by the church youth.

Childcare is available during both services.

Flintwood Wesleyan — The Amplify non-traditional service is 9 a.m. Sunday and Sunday School classes are at 10 a.m. The Well traditional service is at 11 a.m. Both Amplify and The Well are held in the main sanctuary. The Prayer Team will meet at 8 a.m. Sunday School classes meet in their regular rooms at the church, located at 5300 E. 25th St., Columbus.

Adult choir practice is 5 p.m. followed by the Sunday evening service at 6 p.m.

“In The Beginning …,” a small-group Bible study, will meet at 6:30 Tuesday and is studying the book of Genesis.

Wednesday activities begin with supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by GLOW at 6:15 p.m. The Prayer Team will meet at 6:15 p.m. in The Prayer Room. Youth meets at 6:30 p.m. and Adult Bible study will meet at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Old Union United Church of Christ — Sunday’s 10 a.m. sermon, “The Biggest Giver,” marks the 25th Sunday after Pentecost with text from Ruth 3:1-5; 4:13-17; Hebrews 9:24-28; and Mark 12:38-44.

The church is located at 12703 N. County Road 50W, Edinburgh.

Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m. followed by fellowship at 9:40 a.m.

Wednesday Bible study will resume at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Petersville United Methodist — The Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry will deliver the message, “Praise Decision,” with Scripture from Psalm 146 and Mark 12:38-44. The theme of the morning will be “No matter where we are in life, praising God resets our mindset.” The choir will be singing special music, directed by Kathy Bush and accompanied by Chris Kimerling. Teresa Covert will lead the children’s time.

Recognition of All Saints Sunday with candle lighting and a service of communion will take place during the service.

A time of fellowship will follow the worship service at the church, 2781 N. County Road 500E, Columbus.

Larry and Connie Nolting and Chris Kimerling will host the Monday night Bible study, meeting at 6:30 p.m. New members are welcome at either of the classes.

The Sit and Stitch group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Nolting home. Prayer Group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with Barb Hedrick as leader.

Choir practice is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

St. Paul Lutheran — During the 8 a.m. and the 10:45 a.m. services Sunday, Pastor Doug Bauman will present the sermon, “The Ultimate Sacrifice,” based on Hebrews 9:24-28.

Spanish worship service begins in the chapel at 10:45 a.m.

Sardina Baptist — The 55th Annual Harvest Days celebration will be held beginning with a worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 12642 State Road 3, Westport. The Rev. Billy Daniel, the church pastor from 1976 to 1980, will be the guest speaker. Marilee Yeager Taylor will perform a song. The day serves as a reminder of God’s blessings upon the congregation.

A pitch-in luncheon will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Unlike previous Harvest Days, there will be no afternoon service.

Trinity Pentecostal Holiness — Bishop Bob Vance from Lakeland, Florida, will be in revival at the church, 325 McClure Road, at 7 p.m. today.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus — At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the Rev. Nic Cable will present his sermon, “With Gratitude?” He will explore not only how the congregation can live with gratitude, but how this gratitude can change the way members engage with one another at UUCCI and beyond.

Westside Community — Pastor Dennis Aud will lead the service with his message, “Think Before You Speak,” from James 3:1-12, at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church, on the corner of State Road 46 West and Tipton Lakes Boulevard, Columbus. The children’s program through grade 6 meets at 10 a.m.

The Ruby Tuesday Women’s Bible Study has begun a new study, “The Joy of Encouragement,” by David Jeremiah. This group meets from 10 to 11:15 a.m. each Tuesday at the church.

A men’s and women’s 7-week Bible Study meets from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The Men’s study is “The Armor of God” and the Women’s study is “Gideon: Your Weakness, God’s Strength.”

Events

Flintwood Wesleyan training program — The first Discipleship Training Program class has been rescheduled for Nov. 17.

The 29th Annual Open Hearth Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, located at 5300 E. 25th St., Columbus. There will be craft vendors, local artisans, bakers, candy makers and wood crafters. There will be food to purchase and eat on site.

First United Methodist — From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, the Learning Tree Preschool will present the Holiday Bazaar featuring gifts and crafts from a variety of vendors. It’s at the church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus.

Old Union United Church of Christ — At 1 p.m. Tuesday, the church is hosting Ladies Aid.

Petersville United Methodist The annual Charge Conference for Petersville and other local United Methodist churches will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 18 at First United Methodist Church in Columbus.

St. Paul Lutheran — The annual Girl Scout Chili Cook-off Luncheon and Baked Goods Auction starts at noon Sunday in the Fellowship Room, with free-will donations to support scouting projects.

Daniel Mau, kantor and organist at St. Paul Lutheran Church, will present a concert on the Dobson Pipe Organ at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the church. Works will be by J. S Bach, J.L. Krebs, J. K. Paine and F.W. Zachow. Admission is free.

Jonesville Christian — 64 to Grayson will sing at the Jonesville Christian Church, 609 Commerce St., at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. This group originated as students of Kentucky Christian University and have continued to sing after graduation. They will have the morning service to share their message in song. There will also be a Thanksgiving Pitch-in Dinner. Meat and drinks will be provided. Bring several dishes of food to share.

Taylorsville United Methodist Church — There will be a hymn sing at 6 p.m. today at the church, 1361 Tannehill Road, Taylorsville.

Waynesburg Christian church — Fall revival services are being held Sunday-Wednesday with featured evangelist Lane Loman, former lead pastor of Columbus Free Methodist Church. Revival service times are 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday at the church, 10230 W. County Road 850S, Hartsville.
