Two Columbus churches are accepting donations to this year’s Operation Christmas Child.
The Samaritan’s Purse project, partnering with churches worldwide, fills shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and hygiene items to ship to children in need around the world.
Local drop-off locations and hours are:
- First Christian Church, 531 Fifth St., Columbus: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today; noon to 3 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday.
- Columbus Free Methodist Church, 1511 22nd St., Columbus: 3 to 5 p.m. today; 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.
Supporters can also donate $9 per shoebox online at samiritanspurse.org/occ.
Another option is to select gifts matching a child’s specific age and gender, then add a photo or personal note of encouragement online at samiritanspurse.org/buildonline
