Panthers upset Pirates

NORTH VERNON — One week after falling by 24 points to Class 3A No. 3 Salem, Jennings County had a chance to redeem itself against Class 3A No. 2 Greensburg on Saturday.

The Panthers were able to gain that redemption. They led most of the game in pulling off a 73-66 upset of the previously-unbeaten Pirates.

Callie Wilder scored 25 points to lead four players in double figures for Jennings (3-1).

Cougars fall twice

GREENSBURG — South Decatur was within three points after three quarters Saturday, but North Decatur pulled away for a 57-48 win.

Sierra Lang led the Cougars (1-7) with 18 points. Madison Owens added eight.

South Decatur was coming off a 74-22 loss to Greensburg on Friday. Owens led the Cougars with 11 points.

Knights top Eagles

NASHVILLE — Brown County was within four points after one quarter Friday, but ran into foul trouble in the second period, and Northview pulled away for a 62-47 win.

Gracie Matlock led the Eagles (2-2) with 15 points. Anna Fleetwood added 12, and Allison Stogsdill had 10.
