Coroner’s office investigating woman’s death

Staff Reports

An investigation is continuing into the death of a Columbus woman who was found by police in her home.

Police had issued a notice Sunday afternoon saying they were attempting to locate Trillby Hatton, 35, who lived on Lafayette Avenue in Columbus, as her family had reported they had not seen her since Nov. 6.

When Columbus Police officers went to the woman’s home just after 5 p.m. Sunday, they found her body and notified the Bartholomew County Coroner’s office.

Coroner Clayton Nolting said there is nothing to indicate anything suspicious about the woman’s death, and the coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology results as part of the investigation. Nolting said foul play is not suspected. The cause and manner of Hatton’s death is listed as pending and remains an active investigation while the office awaits test results, Nolting said.
