Bartholomew County Commissioners applied to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to purchase four flood-damaged homes on County Road 325W, an agreement that would make the county responsible for demolishing the structures and maintaining the properties.

An undetermined amount of cash was stolen from an office in a break-in at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.

An audience estimated at 3,000 people gathered at Memorial Gym to sing Christmas carols and hear a music program that included 1,300 students singing, playing instruments and acting out tableau scenes.
