Middle school softball tryouts scheduled for Wednesday

Columbus Blue will be conducting tryouts for its middle school softball team at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the batting cages above the auxiliary gym at Columbus North High School for all seventh- and eighth-grade softball girls that plan on attending North in the future.

Scipio Baseball to hold signups at firehouse

Scipio Baseball signups will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 17 at the Scipio firehouse.

The organization will have baseball leagues for boys and girls ages 4 to 12 and also a 13-to-15-year-old league if enough players sign up. Registration is $20 for the first player in a household and $15 for each additional player in a household.

North sets baseball callout meeting set for next week

Columbus North baseball coach Ben McDaniel is holding a callout meeting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the school’s LGI Room.

The meeting is mandatory for all players interested in playing baseball this spring and at least one of each players’ parents.

Bartholomew County youth baseball signups under way

March 1 is the deadline to register online for Bartholomew County Youth Baseball. Walk-ins will be accepted March 2, which is evaluation day.
