Students Fund for Hope to host prom pop-up shop

HOPE — Students Fund for Hope wants Hauser High School students to have a prom night to remember without the stress of purchasing fancy dresses and snazzy suits.

The organization, established in July 2018 by Whitney Budd and Stephanie Long of Hope, is hosting a free prom try-on event Feb. 21. Students can have their pick of donated dresses, men’s apparel, shoes, jewelry and ties, then take it home at no cost.

"We feel that every student should have the opportunity to experience prom, and we hope to help with that this way," Budd said.

Students Fund for Hope has raised more than $17,000 for students at Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp.

To donate to the Hope for Prom initiative, contact Budd or Long at 812-350-2526 or 812-371-5525, respectively. The try-on event is Feb. 21 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Willow Leaves of Hope, 326 Jackson St.
