Hope to have St. Patrick’s Day Pooch Parade

HOPE — The annual St. Patrick’s Day Pooch Parade will be at noon on Saturday.

Entry fee is $5 per dog and the parade/costume contest will have signups at 11 a.m. in the Hope shelter house.

Proceeds will be donated to the Paula A. Pollitt Animal Shelter in Hope. Organizers are seeking donations of cash, dog food, dog treats, cat litter, cat food and treats and accessories.

Prizes will be awarded in various categories including People’s Choice and Most Irish.

The Hope Volunteer Fire Department is partnering with Main Street of Hope for a free-will offering pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Hope Fire Station, 103 Aiken St. The breakfast is a fundraiser for the fire department.
