Two arrested after officers find fentanyl during traffic stop

Two people were arrested on several felony drug-related charges after a traffic stop.

The Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team detectives arrested Ryan S. Redmon, 27, of 731 Main St., Hope and Sasha N. Armitage, 28, of 1032 Phoenix Court, Columbus, on Wednesday after finding several grams of fentanyl in their possession, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Detectives believe Redmon and Armitage traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio where they picked up the fentanyl, Harris said. The two were stopped with the drug in their possession on their way back to Columbus, he said.

Redmon was arrested on preliminary charges of:

Dealing in a narcotic drug

Possession of a narcotic drug

Possession of a legend drug injection device

Bartholomew County warrant for probation violation for dealing in heroin

Trafficking with an inmate

Possession of drug paraphernalia

He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $347,500 bond, jail officials said.

Armitage was arrested on preliminary charges of:

Dealing in a narcotic drug

Possession of a narcotic drug

Possession of a legend drug injection device

Possession of drug paraphernalia

She was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $82,500 bond, jail officials said.

The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team is a combined unit of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, the Columbus Police Department and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s office proactively targeting the manufacturing and abuse of dangerous drugs here.
