East band performs in Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day

Columbus East Olympian Spirit marching band performed in the Cork, Ireland St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday.

The band performed  “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang, a 1980 rhythm and blues party tune.

The parade route was about a mile long, with spectators lined up behind metal gates along the route.

Forty band members made the trip to Cork, among 62 people from Columbus on the trip, when you count in chaperones, directors and parents.

Band members will now embark on a sightseeing tour of Ireland for the rest of their spring break.
