Pence announces art competition

U.S. Congressman Greg Pence, R-Indiana, announced the 2019 Congressional Art Competition for all students in the Sixth District in grades 9-12.

“This is a unique opportunity to showcase the talent of young artists throughout the district, and I look forward to seeing all the wonderful submissions in the weeks ahead,” Pence said

The competition officially opened Friday, March 15, and original artwork must be submitted by April 15.

Since 1982, more than 650,000 high school students throughout the country have participated in the Congressional Art Competition. The winner from each congressional district will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, as well as receive two round-trip tickets to Washington, D.C. to attend a reception for all the winners.
