Bartholomew County REMC will have planned power outages on Tuesday and Thursday in the Waymansville area.
Those affected will be located south and west of Mt. Healthy Elementary School, said Marty Lasure, vice president of REMC communications and member services.
This will affect the areas of Lutheran Lake and Hillview Subdivision and other homes in the Waymansville area located west of State Road 58 and south to the Jackson County line. Members who will be out of power will receive a phone notification.
REMC must shut off power to make upgrades to the transmission line to prevent future safety and reliability issues, Lasure said. There will need to be two separate planned outages to complete this work.
The first outage will occur from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The second outage will occur from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
REMC is asking customers to make necessary arrangements during these times and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause as the cooperative works to improve their system.
