Columbus resident Melinda Johnson will be a contestant on the game show "Wheel of Fortune" at 7 p.m. Thursday on NBC Indianapolis affiliate WTHR.
She was in Los Angeles in April for her appearance, and per show guidelines, cannot comment on anything about her performance.
To be considered for the show, she submitted a video of herself before the end of the year, and then went through an audition later in Indianapolis.
"They like to see (ahead of time) how people respond under pressure," Johnson said.
Johnson decided two things a few months ago.
"I wanted to do something completely different, and I didn’t want to embarrass my family," she said, echoing a Facebook post from Monday evening. "I succeeded on both counts."
