Trinity moves to final
CAMPBELLSBURG — Trinity Lutheran built an 8-3 lead after three innings and never looked back Wednesday in a 14-3, six-inning win over West Washington in the semifinals of the West Washington Sectional.
Tyler Goecker had an RBI-triple for the Cougars (11-11). Jack Marksberry struck out 10 in picking up the win.
Trinity will play Orleans at 6 p.m. Monday for the sectional championship.
Stars blank Panthers
BEDFORD — Jennings County saw its season come to an end Wednesday with a 12-0, five-inning loss to Bedford North Lawrence in the opening round of the BNL Sectional.
The Stars scored three times in the second and broke the game open with a seven-run third. The Panthers (7-15) were limited to three hits.

Cougars nip Panthers
NORTH VERNON — Jennings County’s Bryce Kirchner wom medalist honors with a 38, but Trinity Lutheran edged the Panthers 176-177 Wednesday at St. Anne’s.
Mark Shoemaker led the Cougars with a 39 Ryland Nierman carded a 43, Jacob Keith added a 46, Jacob Sabotin shot 48, Josiah Foster had a 51, Kade Hill finished with a 54, Preston Kovener shot 57 and Caleb Williams had a 63.
Adam Leach and Weston Miller each shot 46, and Joe Kelley and Zach Bingham each shot 47 for Jennings. Brett Silvey carded a 48, Chad Gasper added a 50, Samson Miller shot 53, Dan Maschino had a 54, Conner Cook finished with a 55 and Kyle Corum had a 56.
Warriors top Eagles
FRANKLIN — Whiteland fired a nine-hole school-record team core Wednesday in beating Brown County 151-185 at The Legends.
Parker VanNess led the Eagles with a 1-over-par 37. Curtis Lookebill carded a 43, Cooper VanNess added a 51, Rex Watters shot 54, Paul Kleppe had a 56, Wyatt Fox finished with a 62, Carter Kelly shot 65 and Peyton Proctor had a 69.
Lancers take third
BATESVILLE — Edinburgh finished third with a 226 in a tri match Tuesday at Hillcrest Country Club. Oldenburg Academy edged Batesville 204-205 for first.
Bladen Hancock led the Lancers with a 42. Jordan Myers added a 55, Parker Neumann and Darius Bennett each shot 67 and Travis Jones had a 68.
