Kiwanis Club announces scholarship winners

The Kiwanis Club of Columbus (Evening) and the Kiwanis Indiana Foundation have awarded Abigail Johnson with a $1,000 scholarship from the foundation to attend an Indiana college of her choice. Abigail is a senior at Hauser High School in Hope.

The club also announced the winners of our club’s Scholarship Foundation: Nicole Reisinger, Columbus East; Vanessa Vilalobos, Columbus East; Claire Kilbarger-Stumpff, Columbus East; Larah Henderson, Columbus North; and Brooklyn Burbrink, Columbus East. Each is awarded four years of interest free loans of $750 per year while Reisinger was awarded a one year grant of $750 along with the loan option for the other 3 years.

Additionally, a $1,000 scholarship was awarded by the Kiwanis Club of Columbus to Mary Huynh of Columbus North High School for her extraordinary service as part of the Columbus North Key Club. Key Club is the Kiwanis high school youth service leadership program.

The Kiwanis Indiana Foundation is funded by donations from Kiwanis Club members and other sources. The foundation also funds worthwhile service projects in the form of grants to local clubs.

The Kiwanis Club of Columbus is part of an international service organization of men and women. In additional to the foundation, the members support many area youth and community activities.
