Edinburgh receives OCRA grant

The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs has awarded Edinburgh with a $1,000 grant for Downtown Development Week, Oct. 7 through 12.

The town in its grant application said it plans to use the money for six days of events to provide a positive impact to the downtown business district, celebrate the local harvest season and bring families together for fun activities unique to Edinburgh.

Downtown Development Week honors the commitment of Indiana’s cities and towns to preserve and invest in their downtown, according to state officials.

Edinburgh was one of five projects selected out of 16 applications. Other cities receiving grants were Bedford, Jeffersonville, Knightstown and Monticello.
