Local 4-Hers will be competing at the Indiana State Fair tractor competition on Aug. 10.
On July 27, 18 Bartholomew County 4-Hers competed at the 4-H tractor contest for Area 1, which consists of nine counties in southeastern Indiana.
Contestants are judged on driving skills and safety in maneuvering through a defined course, parts identification and a test of safety and maintenance practices. The top three contestants advance to the state fair at 8 a.m. Aug. 10.
Local 4-Hers who will compete at the state fair are Lilly Arnholt, Eli Kirkland and Owen Arnholt in junior lawn and garden; Weston Romine in senior lawn and garden; Joel Murphy in junior zero turn mower; Wyatt Romine in senior zero turn mower; Kendrick Crowder, junior tractor and Joel Beck, senior tractor. Daniel Murphy will defend his state titles in lawn and garden and zero turn.
