Man arrested after observed yelling in an intersection

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local man who was accused of standing in an intersection yelling at passing motorists.

Deputies were sent to the area of State Street and Gladstone Avenue in Columbus at 2:38 a.m. Sunday about the man in the intersection.

The man, identified as Delfino Galacia, 37, 1111 Eighth St., was uncooperative and aggressive kicking at deputies and kicking the windows inside the patrol car, deputies said.

A large kitchen knife and drug-related paraphernalia was found on Galacia’s person, deputies said.

Galacia was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia and a Bartholomew County warrant, deputies said.

Galacia was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $14,500 bond, jail officials said.
