Hurricane Junior Tour coming to Otter Creek

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will make a stop at Otter Creek Golf Course Saturday and Sept. 1 for the Indiana Junior Open.

The HJGT is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 19. Cost for the tournament is $219 for members and $294 for non-members.

North, East to host Youth Football Nights

Columbus North and Columbus East football will host their annual Youth/Middle School Football Nights for Northside and Central Middle Schools, Bartholomew County Bears and PAAL players next month. North’s will be at it its Sept. 6 home opener against Southport, and East’s will be Sept. 13 against Jeffersonville.

Players are encouraged to wear their game jerseys or team t-shirts, enter the stadium through the team gate and arrive by 6:15 p.m. for a tour and brief presentation. They will also be recognized at halftime on the field at both games.

Also, North’s game against Southport on Sept. 6 will be a Coaches vs. Cancer game as part of Cameron Wischmeyer’s senior project. T-shirts will be $12 for one or $20 for two.

HPW to host ‘Labor Day Sting’ at fairgrounds

Hoosier Pro Wrestling will return to the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds Sept. 7 with "Labor Day Sting."

Doors open at 7 p.m., and bell time is 7:45 p.m. Admission is $12, with kids 4 and under free.

Clinics, pickleball marathon coming to Donner Park

Columbus Parks and Recreation will hold pickleball clinics from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 12, 19, 26 5:30-7:00 and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 16 to 18 at the Donner Park pickleball courts.

Cost is $45. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and court shoes and bring water and can register by calling Columbus Parks and Recreation at 812-376-2680 or online at columbusparksandrecreation.com

There also will be a pickleball marathon from sunrise to sunset Sept. 13 at the Donner Park courts to honor three players who died this summer. Cost is $25.

Ice Arena to host skating lessons, hockey leagues

Registration for Fall 2 Group Skating Lessons at Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena starts Sept. 21. Classes will run Oct. 15 through Dec. 14, with no class the week of Nov. 18.

Cost is $75 for Snowplow Sam, $78 for Basic 1- Adult/Teen, $48 for Speed Skating,and $75 for Beginning and Advanced Hockey Basics. Those registered by the Friday before the start of class and receive $8 off.

Registration for the Fall House League Hockey also starts Sept. 21.

Cost is $220 for a full season and $120 for a half-season. Full Season House League runs from Oct. 22 through Feb.  29. Fall Half Season runs Oct. 22 through Dec. 21. Players can practice from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays or Thursdays or 6:45 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and games will be between 8 and 11:45 a.m. Saturdays.
