Foursome goes 6-under to win Par 3 scramble

Jeff Bowman, Will Mayhew, Allen Hodapp and Tayler Elwood were the winners in Tuesday’s Par 3 scramble at Par 3 Golf Course.

The foursome fired a round of 6-under-par 21 to take the honors.

Spartans win twice

Northside Middle School beat Brown County 5-0 on Tuesday and Central 3-2 on Wednesday to improve to 2-1.

Parth Shah, Param Patel and Sam Song won both of their singles matches for the Spartans. Leo Guo and Steven Sun, along with Nathan Enneking and Jianing Wang, won doubles matches against Brown County.

Jennings boys win

The Jennings County Middle School boys won Thursday’s Southwestern (Hanover) Invitational, beating out the host Rebels 54-59. Sam Fewell finished third in 11 minutes, 5 seconds, while Zach Wahlman was sixth (11:24), Elijah Hatton 10th (11:51), Isaac Gasper 17th (12:12) and Brock Maschino 23rd (12:29).

The Jennings girls had four runners, one less than the number needed to score as a team. Kennedy Woods finished 21st in 14:00, while Justine Jones was 28th (15:10), Sarah Poole (15:34) and Paige Daniels 54th (20:33).

The Panther boys were coming off a second-place finish with 79 points in Tuesday’s Seymour Invitational. The host Owls won with 39. Fewell led Jennings with a third-place finish in 11:47, while Wahlman was ninth (12:05), Hatton 16th (12:35), Maschino 22nd (12:59) and Gasper 36th (13:33).

For the girls, Woods was 40th (16:45), Poole 42nd (17:03), Jones 55th (21:30) and Daniels 57th (25:21)

Panthers down Pirates

The Jennings County Middle School White team beat Greensburg 6-1 on Tuesday.

Francisco Morales scored two goals for the Panthers (4-1). Keiton Miller, Cole Bingham, Christian Hernandez and Gainer Lopez all added one goal.

VOLLEYBALL

Jennings teams sweep

The Jennings County Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade White teams swept a pair of matches last week.

The eighth-graders (7-3) beat South Decatur 25-9, 25-5 on Tuesday and Southwestern 25-13, 25-15 on Thursday. Julian Woodard pounded six kills, and Charlee Barlow served 11 aces against South Decatur. Alivia Elmore recorded four kills and four aces, and Cadence Edwards and Woodard each had four kills against Southwestern.

The Panther seventh-graders (6-4) beat South Decatur 25-9, 25-7 and Southwestern 25-16, 25-10. Kerrigan Paul and Ava Ebbing each served seven aces against South Decatur and two aces against Southwestern.

Meanwhile, the Jennings seventh-grade Blue team (1-3) picked up its first win, a 25-16, 25-18 decision against Crothersville on Thursday. Abby Cross served four aces. The Panthers had fallen to Lutheran Central 25-8, 25-9 on Tuesday.

The eighth-grade Blue team fell to Lutheran Central 25-14, 25-21 and Crothersville 25-14, 25-24. Gracie McPike led the Panthers (0-4) with five aces in both matches.

Greendale tops Panthers

Jennings County Middle School fell to 0-4 with a 32-6 loss to Greendale.

The Panthers scored on a 14-yard pass from Kraedyn Young to Lane Kirchner.
