ColumBike ceasing operations in Columbus

The Columbus Park Foundation has announced that effective Nov. 1, the Columbus Park Foundation will cease operation of the ColumBike bike-share program serving Columbus.

Chip Orben, foundation president, said the foundation tried several different business models to sustain the program.

“While we had many loyal riders, it never reached enough rides and sponsors to allow it to be sustainable,” Orben said.

People may continue to use ColumBike for free through Oct. 31.
