Craft beer film premiere benefits Lincoln Central center

A local company is partnering with YES Cinema and the Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center to premiere a short documentary film on craft beer Oct. 29.

“For the Love of Craft” is a documentary short produced by the Brewers Association, Studio C3 and Charlie Papazian, that peels back the label of what it means to be a craft brewer.

Mo Head Y’all Show, a local podcast, will hold a question and answer panel discussion with local brewery owners and former brewery owners as part of the presentation.

There will also be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions in relation to the film and the craft beer industry.

The 5 to 7 p.m. premiere is free and open to the public, age 21 and over. A preview trailer of the film is available on YouTube.

“From the luminaries and icons of the craft world, to the industry’s newest players, this film takes a deep dive and exposes the desires, dreams, wisdoms, and naiveties of people pursuing their passions — through independence,” said Anthony Blair, host of the Mo Head Y’all Show.

A raffle will follow the conclusion of the panel discussion. Raffle items include rare beer, gift certificates, apparel, glassware and more.

Blair said 100% of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center, a United Way agency that assists numerous support systems, including neighborhood improvement, education, employment development, health education and personal assistance.

Sponsorships are still available for the Oct. 29 event. Sponsorship money will be used for obtaining the theater, event promotion and refreshments.
