Kylie Lock

MALE

Chris Quisenberry, Columbus East sophomore soccer player

Quisenberry scored both Olympian goals Saturday night in a 2-1 regional championship victory against Southport. He also took the corner kick that led to the lone goal in Saturday’s 1-0 semifinal win against Bloomington South.

His performance last week: “There’s obviously some things I need to improve on. My passing wasn’t as strong. My finishing was OK.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “First, I always put my right sock on before my left sock. Then second, I start getting in the mindset for a big game about a week before just so I can kind of work my way up to that point.”

Favorite drink: “Sweet tea”

Favorite food: “Salmon”

Favorite class: “AP Chemistry”

Favorite sports team: “Inter Milan and University of Louisville”

Favorite athlete: “Usain Bolt”

Role model: “I really look up to (teammates) Eric (Stiles) and Jorge (Nieto), especially being seniors and going though this program for four years.”

Best advice: “Focus on the next play.”

Athletics goal: “I would like to go pro in soccer.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Hawaii. I just like being outdoors, and it’s a very outdoor place.”

FEMALE

Kylie Lock, Hauser senior volleyball player

Lock pounded 10 kills and led the Jets with 25 digs in a win over Waldron and led Hauser with 17 kills and 18 digs in a win over Southwestern (Shelby) and with 38 digs and two aces in a win against Morristown in the Edinburgh Sectional.

Her performance last week: "I think we definitely showed everybody what we can do. We were very focused coming into the game. Even if we let up, we got back into it and proved everybody what we can do."

Do you do anything special to prepare? "Before every game, we are in the locker room, we listen to music and get ourselves pumped up, then we go out and focus while we’re warming up."

Favorite drink: "Dr. Pepper"

Favorite food: "Steak"

Favorite class: "Pre Calculus"

Favorite sports team: "Eastern Kentucky volleyball"

Favorite athlete: "Michael Phelps"

Role model: "My mom (Tosha Markwell) or my sister (Breanna Lock) because they push me to do my best, and they always work for what they want and they show me to work for what I want."

Best advice: "To always work hard and show everybody what you can do."

Athletics goal: "Overall, the team goal and my goal in general is to get to state and just work hard and wherever that takes us is where it takes us."

If you could travel anywhere: "I would probably go to Italy because I like pasta a lot, and I feel like it would be better there."
