Voting today?

Today is the municipal election for Columbus residents with voting centers open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

City residents who are registered to vote may cast their ballots at any of the eight voting centers that will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the following locations:

Flintwood Wesleyan Church, 5300 25th St.

St. Johns Masonic Lodge, 4131 Rocky Ford Road

Grace Lutheran Church, 3201 Central Ave.

Donner Center, 739 22nd St.

Bible Church of Columbus, 3010 10th St.

The Commons, 300 Washington St.

German American Bank, 2310 W. Jonathan Moore Pike

Terrace Lake Church, 4260 W. County Road 200S

Voters must have a valid ID, which can be a driver’s license, military ID, passport or state college photo ID. The Bureau of Motor Vehicles at 4445 Ray Boll Blvd. will have extended hours today to process requests for IDs to vote.

All seven Columbus City Council seats are up in this election. Mayor Jim Lienhoop and Clerk Treasurer Luann Welmer are unopposed.

Voters are reminded that if they vote straight party ticket, they must scroll down to the at-large race to cast their vote — it will not automatically put check marks there for the at-large race where voters will choose two of four candidates.

The Bartholomew County Clerk’s office says absentee ballot returns will be posted at bartholomew.in.gov/clerk at 6 p.m. followed by final results between 7:30 and 8 p.m. today.
