Columbus North is looking for a new volleyball coach in the wake of the resignation of Caitlin Greiner.

Greiner, who spent the past eight years as the Bull Dogs coach, was the second-longest tenured coach and the third-winningest coach in the history of the program. She went 102-147 in her eight years.

North’s best season during Greiner’s tenure came in 2014 when it went 20-14. The Bull Dogs finished 8-17 this season, including 2-3 in Conference Indiana, and fell to Bloomington South in the first round of the Bloomington North Sectional.

Greiner was an All-State setter at Columbus East and went on to play two years at Miami (Ohio) and one year at Indiana. She was an assistant coach at East for one year before taking over the North program.

Greiner also coached for five years in the Hoosierland Volleyball Club. She helped form the Columbus North Volleyball Club in 2011 and the Columbus Volleyball Academy in 2017.

The 2004 East graduate was a winner of the Jack Cramer Ideals of Athletic Competition Award in 2017.

Anyone interested in the North volleyball position should contact athletics director Jeff Hester at 812-376-4265.

“I am very thankful for Jeff Hester giving me this opportunity, and I look forward to spending more time with my family,” Greiner said.
