Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Captain Dave Steinkoenig has impounded voting machines from the recent city election until the end of the recount in the First District Council race.

Bartholomew Superior Court 1 Judge James Worton ordered the voting machines to be impounded pending a recount for the Columbus City Council District 1 race in which incumbent Republican Dascal Bunch lost to Democratic challenger Jerone Wood by one vote.

A hearing is set in Superior Court 1 at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday before Worton about the recount, according to the court.
