The team at Valvoline Express Care of Columbus, on 25th Street and Taylor Road, honored one of its core values this past holiday season by giving back to the community.

During the weeks between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, Valvoline Express Care earmarked $2 from every service done to help support the Columbus Advocates for Children (CASA) organization.

Express Care was able to donate $1,178 this December for CASA.

“Our team believes that we should utilize some of our profits to help our local community as often as possible," Express Care owner Christine Parren said. "We felt the Advocates for Children organization offers critically important support of children during difficult times in their lives and we are so happy to help them in any way we can."

Advocates for Children provides volunteer advocates, appointed by a judge, to represent the best interest of abused and neglected children in order to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, loving, and permanent home.

The program aims to help the children to grow into emotionally and physically healthy adults, who can then develop into productive members of our community.

“We are so grateful for the generous support provided by the Express Care team," Therese Miller, Executive Director for CASA, said. "Support such as theirs helped our advocates serve 988 abused and neglected children in 2019, including 415 children right here in Bartholomew County. The vast majority of whom were under 12 years of age."
