• Dr. Anthony Fauci for being a beacon of truth and facts in a sea of misinformation and outright falsehoods.

• Julie Comer for always being there for us and driving me to doctor appointments and checking up on us despite being a very busy person, from aunt and uncle.

• Lee Naylor of Ferrellgas for his quick and dedicated service rendered to an older customer in a pleasant manner for a problem with the heating system.

• the Taylorsville Elementary School teachers and staff for the wonderful parade reminding students and families that they are loved and missed.

• health care workers, store and restaurant employees, delivery drivers, post office employees and all others working to help keep us all safe and sound.

• Taylorsville Elementary School teachers and staff for the parade to let your students know how much you care, love and miss them, from a Taylorsville Bear alumni still living in the neighborhood.

• Southern Indiana Orthopedic staff for putting up with me when my surgery was canceled because of the virus, from Kim Jost.

• President Trump and his task force for doing a splendid job keeping us informed and meeting the challenge of this emergency.

• Democrats who worked to ensure that the economic stimulus funds went to workers instead of CEO bonuses and stock buy backs that were allowed with the last bail out.

• the Republic photographers for the incredible pictures of the high school gymnasts!

• the major news network for having Whitley Phipps sing “Amazing Grace” live on their show.

• my rural mail carrier in Newbern, David Eader, for his prompt delivery and kindness during this crisis, from Ron.

• all the orchid writers for the positive submissions during this time of national and international crisis, that is exactly what we all need and more of it!

• Steve Jasper for an excellent letter pointing out that the president, like a carnival barker, lives in a fantasy world, while real leaders confront the life or death battle with the coronavirus pandemic.

• Cummins for considering making masks at their filtration plant.

• the gas stations in Franklin for selling gas at $1.41 a gallon.

• Eldon from Euro Tech for checking on his laid-off employees.

• all the parents at ABC Stewert School for being so supportive of their teachers.

• our president and vice president for working so hard for the American people.

• the Taylorsville teachers for parading through Northgate and making this old retired teacher smile.

• all of our agriculture and dairy farmers who have been struggling to make ends meet for the past several years, where would we be without them now?

• Circle K for giving me coffee, from a nurse.

• Steve Jasper for his wonderful and truthful letter to the editor today.

• Democratic members of Congress for holding out for a rescue plan for the common person.

• dog owners who have their double-coated dog shaved because they think the dog is hot, to the veterinarians who say it’s OK and dog groomers who do it.

• people who don’t realize stopping the economy for a long period of time will be worse than any virus.

• the federal elected official who cares more about the economy than human lives.

• the federal elected official and political party who continue a lawsuit to eliminate the Affordable Care Act and its health care protections in the middle of a health care crisis.

• onion writers who don’t understand the federal elected official has to walk the razor’s edge of protecting the American people and protecting the American economy.

• the letter writer criticizing our president in a time of war who is working tirelessly and having daily two-hour press conferences keeping the American people updated.

• keeping city parks open and closing county parks — we’re all equal.

• anyone who believes that under the current circumstances that gun stores are an essential business.

• those who don’t realize the critical shortage during the 1918 pandemic wasn’t toilet paper, but instead, coffins.

• the person critical of the federal elected official’s response when the question really needs to be, why didn’t China respond sooner?

• the letter writer criticizing the federal elected official’s response who can’t remember the previous federal elected official allowing 1,000 Americans to die before he responded to the H1N1 virus in 2009.

• the person who does not realize when the media criticizes a federal elected official who deserves criticism, that is not bias against that official.

• the highly elected official who should not speak unless he has something reasonable to say and not a fantasy or another lie.

• the large manufacturing company that lays off its employees without letting them take vacation days, when every other large company is either paying employees or letting them use vacation time.

• politically-biased national news media and social media for causing the current panic in our country, which is only a glimpse of what is to come.

• the political party wanting funds for things that have nothing to do with the pandemic.

• anyone who says we should be willing to die for the economy, money is fake and gold is only valuable because we like shiny things.

• the federal elected official who once again lied about all that we need for hospitals and about the stimulus.

• the medical facility not providing protective equipment for front-line employees.

• the professional basketball league refusing to give refunds to customers who bought tickets for games not being played.

• officials who won’t release the information of where the positive testers are working or going to school so people can take precautions so we don’t continue to spread this virus.

• the onion writer criticizing the political party for stalling negotiations of the stimulus bill when it was actually the current administration and his political party who put their needs above the needs of the American people by seeking 500 billion so the president could shore up his own businesses.

• the restaurant who set up a tent to sell produce and dairy products and was price-gouging potatoes for $6 for 5 pounds.

• the large companies in town for not shutting down, enhancing the spread of the virus.

• the political party that hates the voters of this country and doesn’t care about them dying.

• people who don’t understand why we close schools and cancel meetings and then go to Florida and congregate.

• the self-centered people who think that we can’t go a couple weeks without trash collection for the sake of saving lives in our community.

• the large company who sent all of the masks to China and now we have the problem.

• the federal elected official who gets on the podium and the TV every day and everything he says is incorrect.

• local hardware stores being considered essential businesses.

• officials for not releasing information about people with the coronavirus.

• the city for not having a baby box at the fire station for people to hand over their baby if they can’t take care of the infant.

• the private club and pro shop that has defied the governor’s orders by remaining open on their golf course.
