Bank donates to COVID-19 fund

A local bank which serves Bartholomew County has donated to the United Way of Bartholomew County COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Horizon Bank donated $5,000 to the United Way of Bartholomew County COVID-19 Relief Fund. United Way launched the fund in March to help those affected by the pandemic.

Horizon was one of the first businesses to make a gift to the fund.

Donations to the fund are being allocated to Bartholomew County non-profit agencies helping clients with everything from food and housing to counseling help amid job loss.

So far, $555,783 in local donations have been collected. Nine agencies have received allocations and the fund has helped about 2,500 people in our community.

“We are so grateful for Horizon’s gift to our COVID-19 Relief Fund,” said Magen Pillar, communications manager at United Way of Bartholomew County. “Their donation is helping our community with tangible, critical needs during this difficult time.”

Horizon Bank, Inc. is an independent, commercial bank holding company serving Indiana and Michigan.
