• Presidents Barack Obama, John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton for trying to bring our United States together instead of touting conspiracy theories and managing to leave this nation at unrest.

• President Trump for doing what’s best for America and being the best president since Reagan.

• Shirly Trapp for always have the children at Horizon House Family Homeless Shelter in your heart, from Horizon House.

• Dr. Fauci for telling the nation that if people don’t wear masks and practice social distancing, COVID-19 will not go away.

• John Hoover, professional manager, and Brent, groundskeeper superintendent, for bringing Otter Creek Golf Course back to its best condition ever, from Linda.

• the variety of food from Love Chapel Pantry.

• the United Methodist Church volunteers who came to pack the folders at Clifty Creek Elementary School for the first day of school.

• lady motorcycle rider and police officers who notified me that I left my shop door open after work.

• Fairington Apartments and Salvation Army for the food box they gave to residents.

• Flat-Rock Hawcreek School Corp., Hauser, and Hope for their very professional school opening.

• Allison at Centra Credit Union for getting me straightened out on a money problem.

• Dr. Lovin’s letter about COVID-19.

• John Hopkins University for providing accurate information to the United States, which is one of the leaders in per capita death rates from the COVID-19 pandemic.

• President Trump and Republicans for their stance on Antifa.

• President Trump for his transparency and wisdom handling the pandemic.

Onions to …

• the elected county official who thinks neighbors should have discussed issues with him personally, when none have ever seen anyone at this residence.

• telling people to leave the house and shop downtown during a pandemic where there isn’t that much to shop for downtown.

• the federal elected official for whining about mail-in voting, when he, his family, and so many in his party have done it for years.

• the soccer program for not requiring and enforcing masks or social distancing for kids, coaches and parents.

• the school system with vague plans leaving everything up to teachers and principals in hopes of protecting 12,000 students and the rest of the community when the infection rate is so high.

• the owners of all the vacant houses in the county sitting empty for years and getting vandalized when there is a growing need for rental homes.

• the federal elected official who now is OK with mail-in voting but only if it’s for a state he likes.

• supporting a group to be popular without having any idea what the group really is.

• the city replacing curbs instead of fixing manhole covers that are 4 inches below the street surface.

• people who are just learning all of life and the economy have always been full of risk and the unknown.

• the group excited about a new communication resource when they don’t even use the resources they have available to them now.

• the candidate who said he’ll bring companies back to America, but is going to raise the corporate tax rate; that’s not going to work.

• those who consider a candidate donating plasma a newsworthy event, she should do it without the fan fare.

• reopening schools when Indiana is now included in the number of states with rising cases and each day in school will be considered a daily superspreader event.

• neighbors who stalk and spy on a young man who does a terrific job for this community.

• the local medical organization for not cleaning up the eyesore on West State Road 46.

• those sending in false information and acting like the federal elected official brought this pandemic here.

• not having The Commons open.

• those who don’t know the difference between universal mail-in voting and absentee voting.

• local stores still serving those who refuse to wear a mask, possibly infecting the rest of us who are following the rules.

• those who refuse to wear masks and social distance.

• local stores discontinuing sanitizing carts, counters, and conveyor belts and not providing sanitizers so we can do it ourselves.
