Columbus City Utilities issues boil water advisory for Eighth Street project

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus City Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the area of Eighth and its intersection with California, Union, and Wilson streets. This precautionary measure is necessary due to a shutdown associated with water system improvements in the area.

The boil water advisory will be in effect starting at 8 a.m. Monday. Customers will be notified when the order is lifted.

Customers are asked to boil cooking and drinking water for 5 minutes until notified that the water has passed laboratory testing.

Customers who have provided phone numbers to the utility will receive robocalls. All customers affected will receive a door hanger notice prior to, and upon completion of the testing.

There will be temporary water outages beginning on Monday between at 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. as part of the project.
