A multi-event, virtual fundraiser titled “#40k4suCasa” for the nonprofit Su Casa Columbus will be held on various dates from Sept. 16 to Oct. 16 featuring music, dance, cooking and more.
The timing of the events is to mark National Hispanic Heritage Month, which stretches from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 in the United States.
“The party will be in the safety of your home, so we hope that as you participate, you are inspired to donate to the cause,” said Yuri Penaloza, one of the organizers.
Music will range from the pop-rock of The Tiptonians to the alternative stylings of guitarist Henry Kohen. Food events will feature everything from Brazilian cuisine to Latino, organizers said.
“These events are as diverse as our community,” Penaloza said.
Su Casa strives to help all Latinos locally feel welcome and safe, with equal access to opportunities that encourage a sense of pride and belonging, according to its website at sucasacolumbus.
