Short film Saturday features son of Columbus native

A new, short film features 10-year-old Lukas Barnett of Allentown, Pennsylvania, the son of Columbus native Jason Barnett, and also the film’s star. The 28-minute film “Calf Rope,” about a former rodeo champion who bonds with his grandson in the summer of 1966, will be shown outdoors Saturday amid friends, family and the public Saturday at Three Bin Farm at 5602 E. County Road 100N in Seymour.

The film, with the youngster and director/screenwriter Bradley Hawkins in attendance, begins at 9 p.m., but festivities, including a raffle and a food truck, begin at 6 p.m., according to organizer Amy Barnett.

Tickets are $3 for those ages 4 to 11, and $5 for those 12 and older. Plus, a $10 ticket includes a calf rope mug, three raffle tickets and discounts on the evening’s beverages, including beer and wine.
