Ivy Tech to hold "Virtual College 101"

As the fall semester nears its end, Ivy Tech Community College campuses will be holding virtual events to educate attendees about their programs and offerings.

In past years, College 101 events have been held in-person on Ivy Tech campuses. This year, however, the events are going virtual and will take place on Nov. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Interested participants are required to RSVP at www.ivytech.edu/college101/.

During Virtual College 101, attendees will learn about Ivy Tech’s offerings, including its many associate degree and short-term certificate programs, as well as transfer options such as Transfer as a Junior and Guaranteed Admissions.

They will also learn about programs in areas where employers are hiring such as healthcare, IT, supply chain, business and advanced manufacturing.

According to the Ivy Tech’s website, the Columbus campus’ Virtual College 101 event will take place over Zoom and will include information about:

  • Academic programs available at Ivy Tech Columbus
  • How to apply and enroll
  • Financial aid
  • Preparing for a career
  • Starting your education at Ivy Tech and transferring credits to a four-year institution
  • When you can start taking classes

Ivy Tech Columbus offers over 30 programs in "high-demand career areas," including business, manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, education, and professional flight. During the virtual event, attendees will have the opportunity to talk directly with instructors in many of these programs.
