Columbus Flames teams sweep opponents

Two Columbus Flames hockey teams played New Year’s Weekend, and both came away with two-game sweeps.

Peewee Flames A beat Dayton Stealth A 7-2 and 5-1. Eduard Aranda led the team with three goals and three assists, Will Jamerson netted three goals and one assist, Keaton Russel scored three goals, Lance Kitterman had one goal and two assists, Tyson Tyner added one goal and one assist, Drew Weed scored one goal and Tsukas Udo notched one assist. Lane Barringer was in net with a save percentage of 86.96.

Squirt Flames A beat Columbus Blue Jackets 7-3 and 7-0. Brooks Larsh led the team with four goals and three assists. Carter Davis netted three goals and one assist, Henry Schloemer scored three goals, Kai Bergmann added two goals, Ethan Neumann recorded one goal and one assist, Thomas King scored one goal, Carter Harris had two assists and Holden Thompson added one assist. Canyon Long was in net with a save percentage of 86.36%.

BROOMball

Hansons stay unbeaten

Hansons remained unbeaten at 6-0-2 with a 7-0 win against Our Name Is Earl (3-4-1). Matt Street scored two goals, while Ryan Ingalls, Erik Spilling, Ryan Jepson, Dave VanValkenburg and Matt Psota all added one.

Ben Eckhart netted four goals, and Katelyn Perera added one to lead The Steagles (6-1-1) to a 5-3 win against Toyota Tsunamis. Clayton McNealy, Dalton McNealy and Greg McNealy scored for Tsunamis (0-7-1).

CCA (6-2) blanked Jennings County BC (0-7-1) 4-0. Scott Herron scored two goals, and Thom Hayes and Dave Dickinson each added one for CCA.
