Icemen blank South Stars White

The Columbus Iceman rolled to a 6-0 shutout against South Stars White last weekend.

Alex Clark led the Icemen with one goal and two assists. Brayson Bennett netted one goal and one assist, while Andrew Clark, Will Kushner, Tristan Tyner and John Merritt all scored one goal. John Ferguson had two assists, and Jack Warble, Dane Weinzapfel, Josh Surette and Evan Federle all added one assist. Ben Blanz posted the shutout in goal.

The Columbus Flames Bantams beat Evansville 6-4 and 4-1 and lost to South Sharks 3-1. Jack Warble led the team with three goals and one assist. Wyatt Warner scored two goals; Leif Nelson netted one goal and two assists; Collijah Kenney had one goal and one assist and Blake Avery, Cole Vreeland, Noah Marsh and Hayden Johnson all scored one goal. John Roberts, Dane Winzapfel and Westin Davis all had two assists; and Sam McGhehey, John Warble and Cole Finney all added one assist. Zach Goggins and Jackson Wheatley each were in net one game.

Columbus Flames Peewee B split with Indy Fuel White, falling 6-5 and winning 2-1. Ryan McGhehey led the team with five goals. Zane Lynch had one goal and two assists, Ayden Richardson scored one goal and Ashton Nguyen, Lilly Donica and Carter Kareus all added one assist. Gabe Marsh was in net.

Columbus Flames Peewee A fell to Pekin Dragon AA 6-3 and 3-2. Drew Weed netted two goals, Will Jamerson and Keaton Russel each had one goal and one assist, Eduardo Aranda scored one goal, Tyson Tyner recorded two assists and Tsukasa Udo and Carson King each added one assist. Lane Barringer was in net.

Squirt Flames A swept Indy Jr. Fuel Black 7-2 and 2-0. Brooks Larsh led the team with three goals and three assists. Aaron Warble netted two goals and one assist; Carter Harris had one goal and one assist; Henry Schloemer, Ethan Neumann and Thomas King all scored one goal; Maddox Coy had two assists and Rowan Correll and Carter Davis each had one assist. Canyon Long was in net both games with a save percentage of 92.86.

Squirt Flames B lost to Louisville Ice Cardinals 4-1 and 9-1. Henry Jamerson scored both goals, and Eli Dykstra and Daniel Wallace had the assists. Cayden Long was in net one game with a save percentage of 86.67, and Knox Coen was in net the other game with a save percentage of 56.52.

Hansons stay unbeaten

Hansons ran its record to 7-0-2 with a 2-0 win against CCA (6-3). John Lane and Matt Street scored the goals for Hansons.

The Steagles edged Our Name Is Earl 2-1. Jacob Edwards and Thomas Smith scored for Steagles (7-1-1). Darren Eckerly had the goal for Earl (3-5-1).

Jennings County BC picked up its first win of the season, a 4-2 victory over Toyota Tsunamis. Eric Wernke netted three goals, and Kyle Hunterman added one for JCBC (1-7-1). Dalton McNealy and Jimmy Robertson scored for Tsunamis (0-8-1).

Panthers split with Cubs

The Jennings County seventh-grade boys improved to 3-0 with a 43-10 win against Madison on Wednesday.

Luke Alexander led the Panthers with 12 points. Parker Elmore scorred 11, and Jerry Davis added nine.

Jennings’ eighth-grade boys fell to the Cubs 41-29. Carter Kent led the Panthers with 15 points.
