Library to expand service levels

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Public Library is expanding its service levels effective March 1.

The library will allow more time for library users to browse while in library buildings and limited seating will be available, according to a statement released Monday by the library.

Patrons will also be able to enter the Columbus library through the Children’s Department entrance.

The main library and the Hope Branch Library remain open. Operating hours continue as 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the main library, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday at the Hope Library location.

Library users may still utilize the library’s curbside service.

During this time period, the Main Library’s smaller meeting rooms may be reserved.

The Digital Underground remains closed.

A one-hour time limit will be in effect for computers at 50% capacity.

Masks and social distancing requirements remain in effect.

Library programming will continue, for the most part, to be virtual.
