Indiana reports nearly 900 new COVID-19 cases, 27 deaths

INDIANAPOLIS — Nearly 900 new cases of the coronavirus and 27 additional deaths linked to the virus have been reported in Indiana.

The 897 newly diagnosed cases bring the state’s total to 660,942 since the start of the pandemic, the Indiana Department of Health said Saturday.

The state also said 12,125 people have died, while another 431 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.

More than 981,000 Indiana residents have received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 552,241 are fully vaccinated, according to health officials.
