Rolling slowdowns on I-65 planned this week

Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HIS Constructors plans to conduct rolling slow downs two nights this week at County Line Road (County Road 800E) over I-65 in southeastern Johnson County.

Traffic will be stopped for up to 20 minutes at a time between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for hydrodemolition of bridge decks over the interstate. Southbound traffic on I-65 will be stopped Wednesday and northbound traffic will be stopped Thursday, weather permitting. The bridges are located approximately three miles north of State Road 252 near mile marker 83.

Intermittent stoppages will take place at the State Road 44 to I-65 southbound on-ramp at Franklin (Exit 90) on Wednesday between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. The same stoppages will take place at the State Road 252 to I-65 northbound on-ramp at Edinburgh (Exit 80) on Thursday, April 8, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be slowed to 20 mph at the bridges located approximately three miles north of State Road 252 near mile marker 83 both nights.

This work is part of a $800,000 bridge rehabilitation contract that was awarded last fall. County Line Road is scheduled to remain closed over I-65 through early August. The official detour follows County Road 550S to County Road 700E to County Road 400S.
