Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local man who is accused of domestic violence-related charges.
At 11:33 a.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Andrew Whipker and Deputy Nick Martoccia responded to the Elkland Hills Mobile Home Park in reference to a reported domestic disturbance.
Deputies made contact with a female who had multiple visible injuries, deputies said.
She told deputies that she had been physically assaulted for the past 24-hours and her minor children were present at the time of the assault. The victim claimed at one point, while outside of the residence, Phillip Michael Ramsey, 41, of 16200 E. County Road 265N, pushed her head onto the concrete causing her to lose consciousness, deputies said.
She was checked at the scene by Columbus Regional Hospital EMS personnel. Ramsey fled the scene running from the mobile home park into a wooded area, deputies said.
A short time later, Detective Kevin Abner observed Ramsey walking on the north side of the mobile home park. After seeing Detective Abner, Ramsey ran behind a mobile home and attempted to hide inside a shed. Once he exited the shed, he was taken into custody without further incident, deputies said.
Ramsey was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of felony intimidation, felony strangulation, felony domestic battery causing bodily injury and felony domestic battery in the presence of a minor, deputies said.
Ramsey was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.
