Two Columbus startups preparing for virtual pitch night

Nationally ranked startup accelerator gener8tor will feature two Columbus founders at its virtual pitch night from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbus-based founders Dawn Andrews from garb2ART and Manish Goel from Ninebx will be among 10 companies that present five-minute pitches.

garb2ART’s premium, handmade bath and body products offer everyday personal care items in magical and creative designs. The company uses high-end, premium ingredients coupled with attractive aesthetics to offer customers a top-shelf experience. garb2ART has sold hundreds of thousands of units to such notable retailers as Von Maur, Francesca’s and Hot Topic.

NineBx’s mobile app is a private and secure solution offering a more convenient way for families to stay coordinated on all aspects of their life. NineBx’s cloud-based command center centralizes fragmented and scattered information, offering families a singular place to sync schedules, share to-dos, communicate safely and access sensitive family information on the go, day to day, or in emergencies. NineBx has over 9,000 users across 70 countries and in all 50 U.S. states, adding 500 new users per week.

Pitch Night is open to the public. To register, visit https://live.remo.co/e/bloomington-columbus-and-indy-vi/register.

This is the inaugural gBETA Bloomington-Columbus program in partnership with Velocities, a partnership between the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, The Mill in Bloomington, and Elevate Ventures. The program is industry and vertical agnostic but only open to companies operating within the Velocities region.

Participants receive intensive and individualized coaching and access to gener8tor’s national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. The program is designed to help startups gain early customer traction on their product or idea, and establish metrics that can make them competitive applicants for full-time, equity-based accelerators or seed investment. The program kicked off on Thursday, March 4, and the startups have worked with the gener8tor team over seven weeks to meet mentors, gain customer traction and pitch to investors.

Since coming to Indiana in 2018, gBETA has helped create positive outcomes for its 50 alumni, who have raised over $26.4M in follow-on financing and created over 200 jobs. This is the first Bloomington-Columbus gBETA program, the fourth expansion of programming for the gold-tier accelerator in the state of Indiana within the past year.

There will be another opportunity for Columbus businesses to vie for a spot in the gBETA Velocities cohort this fall. For more information, contact Geoff Zentz at [email protected].
