INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health said that 216 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 750,170 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.
To date, 13,343 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 12 from the previous day. Another 420 probable deaths have been reported to date based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.
A total of 3,549,161 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,546,442 on Tuesday. A total of 10,685,055 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.
Bartholomew County reported 8,163 positive tests (up one) with 157 deaths (no change) as of Wednesday.
Surrounding counties reported:
- Jackson County: 5,088 positive cases (up one) with 75 deaths (up one).
- Jennings County: 2,353 positive cases (up one) with 49 deaths (no change).
- Decatur County: 2,899 positive cases (no change) with 92 deaths (no change).
- Shelby County: 5,008 positive cases (up one) with 96 deaths (corrected total).
- Johnson County: 18,423 positive cases (up 11) with 388 deaths (no change).
- Brown County: 1,040 positive cases (up one) with 43 deaths (no change).

Hoosiers age 12 and older can receive a COVID-19 vaccine; individuals younger than age 18 are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine only. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted at most sites.

As of today, a total of 5,443,967 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,739,547 first doses and 2,704,420 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
