COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress has named Sherri
Jewett, a current regional healthcare leader, as its new executive director.

Sherri previously served as chief executive officer of several psychiatric and substance use hospitals in the area including Hendricks Behavioral Hospital in Plainfield and Valle Vista Health System in Greenwood.

Prior to that work, Sherri worked with Community Hospitals across the Midwest and East to develop psychiatric and substance use services that were consistent with and responsive to community needs.

“Sherri brings to ASAP vast experience in the healthcare and substance use disorder field, and along with her exceptional leadership abilities, will be a great asset to our community for many years to come,” said Mark Stewart, President of the ASAP Board of Directors, and President of the United Way of Bartholomew County.

Sherri will assume the role of executive director on July 12th, with retiring Executive Director Doug Leonard staying on through the end of July and in an advisory role ongoing.
